our volunteer coordinators are ready to help you find the programme that's right for you. here are the ones we hear most.
every placement is with a partner organisation our team has visited and knows personally — not a listing in a directory. before you go, you get a full briefing: what's straightforward, what's challenging, and what precautions matter. we don't send anyone somewhere we wouldn't go ourselves.
because we're not a travel company. Wild Geese is a registered NGO — your fee covers the real cost of the placement. there's no profit margin inflating the number because there's no shareholder to pay. that's what "NGO" means in practice.
fair question — and the right one to ask. we only offer placements where a volunteer's presence creates genuine, documented value. if a community doesn't have a real use for your skills in a specific role, we don't manufacture a fake one.
most of our volunteers are first-timers. the briefing and partner support are designed for people who are new to this. not knowing the ropes is normal — we'll help you find them before you land.
English is sufficient for most placements. basic French is a genuine bonus since Togo is francophone — but local coordinators speak English and we match placements accordingly. if language is a specific concern, we'll discuss it before confirming your project.
