who we are

we're a Czech-registered NGO — not a travel company, not a placement directory. real people with genuine relationships on the ground in Togo. volunteers are welcome from any country in the world.

every partner we work with is someone our team has met, visited, and trusts personally. when we say we know the ground, we mean it — our coordinators Iasmi, Bene, and Mimi have been there.

"an NGO... but make it FUN." — we ruffle some feathers and change the game. we're here because communities in Togo need skilled people, and skilled people need the chance to show up.

still have questions?

our volunteer coordinators are ready to help you find the programme that's right for you. here are the ones we hear most.

is it safe to volunteer in Togo?

every placement is with a partner organisation our team has visited and knows personally — not a listing in a directory. before you go, you get a full briefing: what's straightforward, what's challenging, and what precautions matter. we don't send anyone somewhere we wouldn't go ourselves.

why is your programme fee lower than other operators?

because we're not a travel company. Wild Geese is a registered NGO — your fee covers the real cost of the placement. there's no profit margin inflating the number because there's no shareholder to pay. that's what "NGO" means in practice.

will I actually make a difference, or is this voluntourism?

fair question — and the right one to ask. we only offer placements where a volunteer's presence creates genuine, documented value. if a community doesn't have a real use for your skills in a specific role, we don't manufacture a fake one.

what if I've never volunteered abroad before?

most of our volunteers are first-timers. the briefing and partner support are designed for people who are new to this. not knowing the ropes is normal — we'll help you find them before you land.

what language do I need?

English is sufficient for most placements. basic French is a genuine bonus since Togo is francophone — but local coordinators speak English and we match placements accordingly. if language is a specific concern, we'll discuss it before confirming your project.
